We're Feeling Fine in Fall!

These past few weeks of October have been so busy! We are learning so much and before you know it 1/2 of our kindergarten year will be over! I can't believe it! Time just flies.

Well we are chugging right along here at BSLK. We have been learning about pumpkins, spiders, having fun with Halloween, lots of letters and we have received our first report card. I was so pleased to see all the improvement we have made since the beginning of the year! Wow! they are learning so quick! This next month is going to be another busy month as we begin to learn about Thanksgiving, being thankful, more letters and sounds, sounding out words, and begin to write sentences on our own!

This month we also went on our very first field trip! We did great even if it was FREEZING!  We were great listeners on our trip and had so much fun picking out pumpkins and seeing all the animals. Thanks to all the parents who were able to come and help at the pumpkin patch! Here are a few pics of our day!

 Our class picture!

Great picture of Grayce on the hay bales.

Joseph, Levi and Hannah sporting their cool hats on our cold day!
Andy picked out a bumpy pumpkin.
 We loved the sweet kitty!
(and I think he liked us too)
Riding the cow train!

We also learned a lot about good choices and bullying from Mrs. V during red ribbon week. We got to dress up to show that we were going to make good choices  about our bodies and our friends. It was a fun week!

Rocking out on rock star day!
The real Aggies football players came to read to us!
Howdy!
(Levi was a little unsure of taking his pictures with the girls! lol)

We are loving kindergarten! Thank you for sharing your little one with me! They are learning so much and teaching me more than they will ever know!
There is just no place better than BSLK!
Be looking for posting on our Thanksgiving feast that will be coming soon!

T is for teddy bear picnic.

This week we have been learning about the letter T. We had so much fun! Our favorite part about this week was having a teddy bear picnic on the track. During our picnic we were able to have a "T" party. All of our food began with the letter T. We had teddy grahams, tootsie rolls, trix cereal, tostitos chips, and triscut crackers. Thanks to all the parents who were able to send all our letter T snacks.
Next week promises to just as fun. Next Friday we will be going on our first field trip to the pumpkin patch. We are so excited! Cant wait to post about that! We will also learning about apples with the letter a. I just love this time of year! Can't wait to get another week started with my sweet babies. I have missed their sweet faces this weekend , but I am enjoying being wrapped up in my blanket on this chilly gray Sunday. :) Snuggle close with those sweeties today!

Here are a few pictures from our picnic!

Here is a look at what you've been missing.

Ok so I know it's been awhile since my last up date, but we have just been so busy having fun in kindergarten! Oh my goodness, we have learned our colors, color words, the numbers 0-5, finished three weeks of our reading series, fall pictures have been made, we have had grandparents day, PTO, the book fair , and celebrated the book Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom. Whew I told ya! We have been learning so much and making wonderful kindergarten memories. I have added a few pictures of all these great things. Next week we will be starting a letter a week. We start with the letter Mm, so our theme is monsters! I can't wait to get our week started! I will be posting pictures of our activities soon I promise! :) Love on those sweet babies for me. They are so wonderful and full of life. Here's to another week of learning and fun.

Can't wait to meet my new kindergarten friends!

Well another school year is coming up fast. I sure have enjoyed my summer! We have been busy moving into our new home, taking a few vacations to the beach, playing on Weiss Lake, and all around just being lazy! :) Now I'm officially back in school mode. Our classroom is ready ( I think, I get a new idea from pinterest everyday! I'm a little obsessed! ),and I found out the names of my new kindergarten friends! I can't wait to meet all my new friends. You all will love Big Spring Lake! We have 18 wonderful new friends in our room this year. I know each one of you will bring something special to our class. We will get to meet in a few short weeks. Until then here are a few pictures of our classroom. Also check out the "meet Mrs. Snead" button to learn more about me!

We did it!

We did it! We are leaving for first grade! I am so proud of all my boys and girls. They are all so smart and ready for first grade. I am going to miss them so much. That's the only sad part about teaching at an all kindergarten school, when they leave for first grade, you don't see them next year. It really is saying good bye. :( It's a little bittersweet for this teacher. To all my sweet, sweet kiddos, have a great summer, learn lots and enjoy the "big" school.  I love you all! To my parents, thank you so much for trusting me with your most precious gift. Hug them lots and enjoy every second.

I am looking forward to enjoying a little bit of time off this summer, but with moving into our new home, getting our classroom ready for new k babies and presenting at our NEAEC Conference, I am going to be one busy teacher.  I still think I am going to fit in a beach trip somewhere! :) Hope you all have an awesome summer! I will be posting through out the summer about conferences and things to get ready for next year. Can't wait for another great K year to begin!

~HAPPY SUMMER!~

We went to the zoo, how about you?

This past week we went on one of our last field trips of the year, and it was awesome! We got to visit the Birmingham Zoo. At school, we have been learning facts about zoo animals and really talking up what we would see at the zoo. Finally, it was our day to visit the zoo. We had a great time! We got to see all sorts of neat animals, feed the lorikeets, and ride the train. All my kiddos were great! They all stayed together, used our peacemaker words, and had fun. A special thanks to all my parents who were able to come with us. You don't know how much I appreciated your kindness, help, and support! Here are a few awesome pics of our trip.
 Feeding the Lorikeets
 Got to see the elephants.
The baby lion cubs! Oh my goodness, they were so fun to watch!
Our little tour guide! Since it had been a very long time since Mrs. Snead had been at the zoo, Vyveanna, who had came a lot, helped us out! Thanks!
We even worked on our map skills at the zoo. We wanted to see what we wanted to look at next.
Having fun on the train ride.
Checking out the sea lions. Anna decided that she no longer wants to be a teacher at BSLK, she want to be a zoo keeper so she can spend all day swimming with the sea lions! :) Great idea!
We're excited about the zoo!

Well guys, it's getting close to time to say good bye for another school year and move forward. Wow! Just seems like a week or two ago we were just getting to know each other and learning about colors! We have come so far! We are reading now and being such big girls and boys. I'm so proud of all of them. These next few weeks brings Mommy morning, first grade move up days, graduation, last round of DIBELS testing, field day, book fair, and our end of the year party. WHEW!! Lots going on at BSLK! This next week our theme is oceans, just in time to start thinking about summer beach trips. Looking forward to another busy and fun week in K!
